Hazel was a very special girl. She came to the shelter simply because her owners couldn’t care for her any longer. She was a Pit Bull mix, with an absolutely human-like personality. She was very emotional and unfortunately the shelter environment made her very unhappy. She did not like the other dogs. They made her anxious and she spent much of her time barking at them. She was so troubled that she was placed into foster care to try and calm her down. A foster is a person or a family that agrees to take animal in to their home that belongs to the shelter. They work with the animal if the animal might be sick or unhappy or even it is just too young to be adopted. After caring for the animal, he or she is returned to the shelter. Here in foster care, it was found that Hazel loved people. She was very playful and she loved her toys. She romped around wildly with them, throwing them back and fourth. She even loved to bury them or drop them at your feet.
