Nina was a sweet little Pit who was brought in because her owners had found her, kept her for a few weeks and then no longer wished to have her.  Nina had a beautiful, sweet personality and always wanted to be close with everyone!  Her very loving nature made her a great candidate for adoption but there was one thing that worried adopters; Nina had trouble putting weight on her left hind leg.  No one was sure how to fix this, since it looked to be an injury from years ago that had already healed.  This discouraged adopters but finally one of the staff decided to foster Nina and took her to a veterinarian in hopes of finding a possible solution to help poor Nina.  The vet suggested amputation and this was such sad news for her foster that she adopted her herself!  Nina is now very happy in her new home and is undergoing treatments that will serve as an alternative to amputation and a way to save her leg!
